Abstract
1277334 Measuring permittivity INSTITUT MEKHANIKI POLIMEROV AKADEMII NAUK LATVIISKOI S.S.R. 21 July 1970 [17 Feb 1970] 35225/70 Heading G1U In order to measure the permittivity of a block of material 4, three electrodes 1, 2, 3 connected to an oscillator 5, are placed in contact with the material, the third electrode 3 being connectible 6 to either of the other two, 1, 2, and the following operations are performed:- (1) With the third electrode connected to the first electrode 1, cycles of the oscillator 5 output are counted positively for a first period, by a counter 10 which is zeroised 18 prior to counting, and (2) With the third electrode connected to the second electrode 2, cycles of the oscillator 5 are counted negatively for a second period, the counter starting from the count attained at the end of the first period. Providing certain design considerations-discussed in the Specification-are met, the final count is proportional to the required permittivity.
