Abstract

1277099 Photo-electric displacement measuring RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 24 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 31995/69 Heading G1A [Also in Division H4] Vibration of a surface 28 is measured from the outputs of fibre-optic pipes 20, the surface carrying a predetermined pattern and light being transmitted thereto by a fibre-optic pipe 18. Photo-cells 24 are connected as shown to measure vibration in the Y direction. In another embodiment, Fig.5 (not shown) a further pair of fibreoptic pipes detects vibration in the X direction, Fig. 5 (not shown); vibration in the Z direction may be measured by summing all of the light collected.
