Abstract
1,248,914. Boosted hydraulic control systems; clutch control. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO. Ltd. 29 Nov., 1968 [4 Dec., 1967], No. 54966/67. Headings F2F and F2C. [Also in Divisions G2-G3] A servomotor suitable for actuating a clutch has a slave piston 9 connected at the free end of its rod 8 to the rod 5 of a concentric servopiston 4, a spring 27 serving to maintain contact between the rods and the clutch release lever (not shown). The servo-cylinder 2 provides trunnion sockets 11 which allow angular adjustment. The master cylinder is connected via chamber 13 and passage 15 with the slave cylinder such that the slave piston 9 responds directly to master cylinder pressure. A selflapping valve constituted by differential piston 12, dumb-bell 21 and seat 26 responds to master cylinder pressure at 13 and sets up a pneumatic control pressure in the servo-cylinder 2. A bleed nipple (28) is fitted to the uppermost part of casing 3. An air leakage past the slave piston is prevented by 0-rings 30 and passages 29, 31. In Fig. 3, not shown, the slave and servo cylinders are coaxially aligned end-to-end with the pistons mounted at opposite ends of a common piston-rod.
