Abstract

1,242,629. Hospital bed. KERWIT MEDICAL PRODUCTS Inc. 18 Dec., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 61741/69. Heading A4J. A hospital bed is so constructed that panels 40-43 which are transparent to X-rays provide a clear view, and to this end the adjustment mechanisms by which non-planar configurations may be set up are all arranged at the periphery of the bed. As disclosed, worm and wheel gears drive linkages and the mechanism is contained in the frame 2. As shown, a portable X-ray equipment 15 can be used in situ thus avoiding the necessity of moving the patient.
