1,235,615. Stacking. INSTITUT FUR DIE SUSSWARENINDUSTRIE. 8 Aug., 1969, No. 39743/69. Heading B8C. In a machine for transferring flat baked articles from an oven cooling-belt 2 to a packing machine, six parallel rows of articles 1 from the cooling belt 2 are moved by transfer rollers 8 and brush rollers 9 on to six vertically staggered cable-conveyers 3, adjacent articles in a row, if adhered to each other, being separated by flexible, hold-down means 18. The articles in a row in the conveyer 3 are aligned by two vertical guide plates (11) inclined to each other towards the delivery end. Articles of a row on the conveyer 3 then pass on to a further conveyer 12 provided with a counter 13, and a brush roller 14 accelerates the articles so that they drop and land flat in a magazine 4 after striking against an edge 15 clad with rubber or wax, to form a stack 16. The stack is then transferred by an insertion apparatus 17 into a magazine of an intermittently moving conveyer 5. An ejector 7 pushes the stack from the conveyer 5 into a spider wheel (6) of a packaging machine.
