Abstract
1,232,834. Mechanical couplings for cable sheathing; supporting conductors. H.V.E.- THERMODUCT Ltd. 23 April, 1969 [15 May, 1968], No. 22998/68. Headings H2C and H2G. A cable comprising a sheath 1 of deformable material, e.g. resilient plastics or rubber, and conductors 3 loosely located in passages 2 in the sheath is secured at an end thereof in an aperture 5 in a connection box 6 by threading tapered sleeve members 7 on the conductors and pressing the members into passages 2 sufficiently to expand the end 8 of the sheath whereby the cable is secured to the box at least against an external pulling force. The sleeves may be of metal or alternatively, nylon, polystyrene or other plastics. The sleeves if made of resilient plastics may be adapted to grip the conductors.
