Abstract

122,323. Baumann, K., Guy, H. L., Winning, J. F. F., and British Westirtghofase Electric & Manufacturing Co. March 18, 1918. Blades. - Stator guide-blades 7 for the diaphragms of axial-flow turbines are formed of a single thickness of sheet metal having its inlet edge thickened by turning or bending over this edge 6, Fig. 1, or by welding or otherwise securing a strip of metal 11 thereto, Fig. 5. The free edge 8, Fig. 1, of the bent portion is pressed into close contact with the blade surface and may be welded thereto, or the space within the bent-over portion may be filled wholly or at the ends only with one or more strips of metal 9. The strip 9 may be held in position together with the bent-over portion by a rivet.
