1,217,690. Selective printing. CREED & CO. Ltd. 13 Dec., 1968 [20 Dec., 1967], No. 57895/67. Heading G4H. A line printer has two half-line groups of recording heads displaced from each other in the direction of relative movement of the recording medium, and two half-line stores are associated with the groups of recording heads, one store being filled while the other is feeding its associated group of recording heads, so that the two halves of each line are recorded successively. The characters in each half line are formed from a dot matrix and corresponding matrix rows in a half line may be printed simultaneously or successively. The recording surface may be a drum of an electro- or magnetographic printer.
