Abstract

1,198,892. Adjustable beds. HOSKINS & SEWELL Ltd. 14 Nov., 1968 [19 Jan., 1968], No. 2901/68. Heading A4J. In a hospital bed of the kind having a mattress frame 16 and a base frame 10, with jacking means 41 therebetween, the frames are interconnected by an X-linkage 14 at least one end of which is slidably connected to its associated frame for movement in a direction parallel to said frame. The mattress frame 16 may be connected to an intermediate frame 15, a hand-operated spring loaded pawl 26 being used to tilt the mattress frame 16 at a desired angle relative to the intermediate frame.
