Abstract

1,194,572. Tobacco-smoke filters. BRITISH-AMERICAN TOBACCO CO. Ltd. 15 July, 1968 [24 July, 1967], No. 33948/67. Heading A2C. Filamentary, fibrous or sheet tobaccosmoke filtering material is coated with a suspension of rupturable capsules containing a flavouring substance, the average diameter of the capsules being between 1 and 100 microns. In the examples, aqueous suspensions of menthol-containing gelatine capsules are sprayed or brushed on to tobacco-smoke filtering paper and the coated paper, after air drying, is converted into filter tips and attached to cigarettes in conventional manner. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,132,950.
