Abstract

1,178,815. Articles from inflatable parts. S. P. VACI. 15 July, 1968 [16 April, 1968], No. 17815/68. Heading A6S. [Also in Division F4] An article (e.g., a lampshade) is assembled from a plurality of separate individually inflated deflatable units 11, which units are of identical crescent size and shape when deflated, said units being detachably interconnected and maintained in mutual contact with one another by fixing means. A unit is shown in Fig. 5. The unit may be made from two sheets of superimposed material 22, 23, e.g. vinyl plastics material, by joining by high frequency welding. The fixing means may be press-stud fasteners 19 (male) and 20 (female). Each unit preferably has an ingress 21 with a non-return valve for inflation. To protect the units from the heat of the lamp, a protective element 27 may be folded around the border 17 of the units and attached at zones A by high frequency welding. The units may be suspended by one or two straps (Figs. 2, 3 and 6 - not shown).
