Abstract

1,151,614. Data transmission systems; V.F. signalling. GENERAL ELECTRIC & ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANIES Ltd. 8 Feb., 1968 [22 Feb., 1967], No. 8582/67. Headings H4P and H4R. In a frequency shift binary data receiver in which the binary data may be represented by either of two pairs of frequencies, two filters are connected in parallel, one or other filter being shorted out depending on which pair of frequencies is being received. The frequency shift signals pass via a filter 1 and emitter follower 3 to the two filters 5, 6. The amplifier is matched to the filters by resistors 16, 17. Transistors 22, 23 are selectively enabled to short the input of the corresponding filter. The filters feed mixer 8 via amplifier 7. The mixer feeds a band-pass filter connected to a limiter which feeds a tuned circuit. This develops a frequency shift signal whose amplitude varies with frequency. A rectifier derives the binary data from this signal.
