Abstract

1,151,058. Reciprocating pumps. MULLARD Ltd. Jan. 26, 1968, No. 4230/68. Heading F1A. A pump which operates by heating and cooling the liquid to be pumped comprises a container A having an inlet valve C and outlet valve E and a bellows member H filled with a volatile liquid, secured to one end. The member H is surrounded by a heating element controlled by a switch K, which may be cyclically controlled by external means or as shown by a projection L on the member H. A thermostat may be provided to prevent overheating together with suitable indicator lamps. The pump is stated to be useful for supplying heated liquid to a blanket or garment, in a closed circuit. An expansion chamber O is incorporated in the pump.
