Abstract

1,137,018. Image intensifier systems. MULLARD Ltd. 30 June, 1967, No. 30220/67. Heading H4F. [Also in Division H1] An image intensifier tube of the type comprising a photo-cathode P arranged close to a channel intensifier device 1 the output of which is accelerated on to a fluorescent screen S, is used as a light shutter by using a switch SW to provide a positive or negative potential between the photo-cathode P and the input electrode E1 of the channel intensifier. The positive potential Bcl switching the device on should be between 25 and 200V, and the negative potential Bc2 switching the device off should be between- 10 and - 200V. In one example Bcl is 100V and Bc2 - 100V.
