In a woven magnetic memory matrix comprising a plurality of information line wefts 3, each consisting of a conductive core coated with a magnetic film having a circumferential easy axis, and a plurality of word line warps W, wherein binary information is stored at each cross point of the information and word lines, interference between neighbouring storage regions is prevented by interconnected spaced windings S o , S which constitute a short-circuit so that a word current in a word line induces an e.m.f. in an associated winding S o , causing current to flow in the windings S o , S so as to cancel the magnetic flux in the magnetic film in the region of the winding S. Spacers 5 may be provided. In Fig. 8 (not shown), there is only one pair of windings (S o , S) between neighbouring word lines. In Fig. 9 (not shown), a winding (S o ) is located between the turns of a multi-turn word line and is connected to a pair of spaced windings (S), one on each side of the word line. In Fig. 10 (not shown), a word winding has two windings (S o ) located between its turns and connected to respective windings (S). In Fig. 11 (not shown), two pairs of windings (S o , S) are provided between neighbouring word lines as in Fig. 7 except that the spacings I overlap.
