Abstract
1,088,607. Anaesthetizing apparatus. H. LIST [trading as ANSTALT FUR VERBRENNUNGS-MOTOREN], PROF. DR. HANS LIST. AUG. 13, 1965 [Aug. 20, 1964], No. 34671/65. Heading A5R. Apparatus for inducing sleep or anaesthesia in a patient by the application of an alternating non-periodic wide-band electric current signal comprises an electronic noise source generator 1 connected to head electrodes 8, 9. and optionally an amplifier 2, a variable band filter 3, a motor driven potentiometer 4, and a second amplifier 5. The noise source generator may comprise a diode or a resistance and has an output in the frequency range 5-30 kc/s. The circuit may also include an oscilloscope 6 and a connection 10 whereby a D.C. component may be added to the alternating signal. It is stated that the apparatus may be controlled automatically according to the patient's blood pressure, pulse, &c.
