Abstract
1,073,433. Printing processes. RANK XEROX Ltd. Dec. 17, 1963 [Dec. 17, 1962], No. 49690/63. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] Transparent images in opaque, porous layers are produced by applying an imaging material imagewise to the opaque layer, and reducing the viscosity of the material so that it flows into the pores of the opaque layer and transparentizes the opaque layer. The opaque layer may be a blushed layer of ethyl or nitrocellulose and the imaging material may be applied by writing or transferring a developed electrostatic image. The imaging material may be a wax or cadmium stearate and its viscosity is reduced either by heating or by applying a solvent for the material (but not for the opaque layer).
