Abstract
107,044. Dubber, A. June 9, 1916, Endless belt and chain conveyers with articulated receptacles and troughs; scraper and trough conveyers; discharging and feeding devices.-An endless conveyer band is formed of multiple hinged links a, b, c, each comprising a metal strip bent to a crenellated or wavy outline. The projecting portions of each link fit within the openings of the adjoining links, to which they are pivoted by transverse pins c having bent, riveted, or threaded ends. A transverse base-plate may be arranged beneath each link, or each compartment of the links may be fitted with a sheet-metal base n, Fig. 6, suspended by hooks or eyes from the sides of the compartment or from the pivot pins e. The transverse portions t of the links may be cut away along their lower edges to accommodate the baseplates n. The longitudinal portions of the links may be given a wavy outline along their upper edges. When the links are not fitted with baseplates, they may work over a fixed bed u, Fig. 12, or over a pliable band. The material, when of a viscous or plastic nature, is forced into the compartments by a roller w, and is discharged either by teeth x on one of the polygonal pulleys l, m, or by a reciprocating plunger y, or by a loose toothed wheel z.
