Abstract
1,057,461. Selective printing. FUJITSU Ltd. Jan. 21, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1963], No. 2692/64. Heading B6F. [Also in Division G2] In a method of producing electrostatic images an electric field is passed through a stack of at least two sheets 8 which are subsequently separated. The field is created between two electrodes 6, 7, one of which 6 is a rotary electrode having a pattern of characters thereon. Each sheet includes a base layer of paper carrying a film having a specific resistance of at least 10<SP>13</SP> ohm. cm., the surface on which the image is produced having an unevenness in the range 2Á to 20Á. The base (b), Fig. 2 (not shown), may be paper with an uneven surface which produces unevenness of the film (a) of insulating material or the base may be smooth and the film itself uneven. When a required character on the electrode 6, Fig. 4. reaches a position facing a selected electrode 7 a high voltage circuit 9 is actuated by a control circuit 10 to apply a high voltage between the selected electrode 7 and a character on electrode 6. The electrostatic image is developed by powder or liquid in conventional manner, e.g. cascading.
