Abstract

A heat exchanger has a fin element in the form of an initially helically wound wire which has been subsequently flattened but with adjacent loops remaining spaced apart, the sides of the element 2 contacting walls 1, 3, defining an annular space for a heat exchange fluid, and one said side being fixed to one said wall. The side may be secured by welding.
