Abstract
1,051,184. Spray producers. RANSBURG ELECTRO-COATING CORPORATION. July 1, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 26068/63. Heading B2F. [Also in Division H1] The figure shows a cable for supplying a high voltage to an electrostatic paint spray gun. To ensure the operators safety and reduce the risk of fire in the event of the cable being cut, the usual conductor is replaced by a semiconductive core 27 consisting of polyethylene loaded with carbon black. A central core of coarse threads of natural or synthetic fibres, glass rovings or glass strands prevents stretching of the cable. Insulating layer 28 may be of polyethylene and outside this is a conductive sheath 29 and an outer cover which may be of natural or synthetic rubber and is also loaded with carbon black or graphite to prevent the build-up of surface charges.
