Abstract

1,042,934. Tiles. MARLEY TILE CO. Ltd. March 16, 1964 [March 26, 1963], No. 11974/63. Heading E1B. Roof or wall tiles of a corrugated or undulated polyvinyl chloride material are shaped to interfit side by side and are provided at their head and tail ends with inter-engaging formations which prevent the tiles lifting in the wind. As in Fig. 1, the upper surface at the head of each tile is provided with a water bar 3 and with side-ways projecting lugs 4, the lugs engaging over lips 8 on integral projections 7 positioned (as shown in Fig. 2) on the underside of the tail of each tile. The side grooves 11, 12, and 13 for interfitting the tiles have formations 15, 16, 17, 18 which check rain water and the grooves 12, 13 inter-communicate to aid drainage. A groove 6 is provided to receive foamed sealing material end a half tile may be formed by cutting the tile between ribs 23.
