Abstract

1,027,645. Television. BLAUPUNKTWERKE G.m.b.H. Jan. 25, 1963 [Feb. 8, 1962], No. 3195/63. Heading H4F. [Also in Division H1D] In a television receiver in which the line structure of the reproduced image is eliminated by elongating the cross-section of the electron beam by means of magnets 33 while applying a negative D.C. potential to the focusing grid 30 (see Division H1) the drive of the video output stage 25 is increased by connecting the cathode of valve 25 to earth through a diode 42. The negative bias applied to the focusing grid is derived from a pulsed voltage present in the line time base stage 36. With the changeover switches 29, 32 in the position shown the magnets 33 are de-energized and the usual positive voltage is applied to the focusing grid by voltage divider 31. In another embodiment the capacitor 43 in the cathode circuit of video output stage 25 is connected to earth through the capacitor 28 in the focusing grid circuit whenever the switch 29 is in the position for applying a negative bias to the focusing grid. An A.C. potential dependent upon the deflection of the electron beam may also be applied to the focusing grid.
