Abstract
The invention relates to a photographic system without deformation for the detection of papillary traces inside small object. It consists of two movable mirrors (1) (2) assembled by brackets (3) installed on a support consisting of a telescopic mast (6) and a telescopic arm (10) interconnected by a piece of assembly (8), the assembly being balanced by means of a support plate (4). The invention overcomes the impossibility of photographing a revealed papillary trace inside an object of reduced size, without deformation of the index, the objective of the camera can not be placed at right angles to to the medium on which this index is revealed. Crevel's episcope is particularly intended for use in the framework of the Technical Police.
Description
Crevel's episcope concerns a device implemented as part of the technical police to photograph, without deformation of the image, a latent papillary trace revealed inside a small object. The latent papillary traces are traditionally carried out according to three procedures: - the transfer: once revealed, a latent papillary trace can be taken by unrolling on it a transparent adhesive tape and then fixing the whole on a transfer pad plastic or transparent glass; - photography: when the latent papillary trace is revealed, it may be fixed on a photographic plate; - the chemical revelation: the nature of some porous supports (paper, cardboard, textile ...) requires the use of chemical substances for the revealing of latent papillary traces. Once revealed, those are photographed. In the case of photography, the user has the possibility of controlling directly on the screen of the digital camera the quality and sharpness of the photographed index; moreover, there is no risk of loss of minutiae of the index. It is therefore the privileged mode of operation. Fixing the papillary trace on a photographic plate, however, presents constraints. The use of a camera to fix on a plate 20 a papillary trace requires the user to place the lens of the device at an angle of approximately 90 ° with respect to the support on which this trace is revealed so that the it is not distorted. Consequently, it is impossible to photograph a revealed papillary trace inside a small object, without deformation of the index, the objective of the camera not being able to be placed at right angles to the support on which this index is revealed. The state of the art is such that two optical devices are approaching the Crevel episcope; one to solve the problem raised, but by a different means, namely by an optical fiber, and the other 30 concerning the same technical field (the photograph of fingerprints) but providing a common support for the mirrors and the camera and not allowing to photograph an impression present inside a hollow object such as a cup or a vase. In addition, neither patent describes the use of a telescopic mast or a telescopic arm.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy the impossibility described above. To photograph a papillary trace revealed inside a small object (cup, glass, vase ...), the device consists of a set of mirrors so as to "pull out" the trace of support on which it is revealed. The mirrors are orientable relative to each other (angle 40 closed at 80 °). With this inclination, the mirror introduced inside the object captures the papillary trace image and projects it to an upper height on the second mirror placed in front of the user. This set of mirrors thus makes it possible to extract the image of the medium where it is located. The attached sketch illustrates the device of the invention in section.
In the embodiment of the figure, the device comprises two mirrors (1) and (2) of dimensions 60 mm by 40 mm, spaced from each other by 55 mm, orientable relative to each other and assembled by brackets (3). A base (4) of 140mm by 110mm ensures the stability. In its center, a hole (5) is drilled in which sinks a telescopic mast (6) from 160mm to 50 400mm (vertical adjustment). The second end of the mast is fixed by a screw (7) to an assembly part (8) in which is fixed by a screw (9) the telescopic arm (10) from 80mm to 180mm (horizontal adjustment). The second end of this telescopic arm is fixed (11) on the set of double mirrors (the one placed in front of the user). The mirrors are both secured by screws (12) to a support (13). According to particular embodiments, the size of the mirrors specified above is optimal for the majority of objects (glasses, cups, vases ...). However, it is possible to adapt a set of mirrors: of smaller dimensions: if the inside diameter of the object on which the trace 60 is revealed is really small; - of greater dimensions: if the inside diameter of the object lends itself to it. The Crevel's episcope is particularly intended for use in the context of the technical police.
