Description
DISPOSITIF ET PROCÉDÉ D'ASSISTANCE À LA CONNEXION ENTRE UN TRANSMETTEUR RADIO POUR TÉLÉ-RELÈVE ET AU MOINS UN COMPTEUR DE CONSOMMATION DE FLUIDE. DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN A RADIO TRANSMITTER FOR TELE-RELAY AND AT LEAST ONE FLUID CONSUMPTION METER.
The invention relates to an assistance device for making connections between a radio transmitter for remote reading of fluid consumption meters and the output conductors of at least one counter, or at least one sensor equipping such a meter, providing signals representative of the consumption, the transmitter being able to be provided to be connected to several sensors. The invention relates more particularly, but not exclusively, to the remote reading of water meters, but it can be applied to meters of other fluids, for example gas meters, electricity meters. 15 Remote meter reading systems for water, gas, electricity, or other fluids have been developing significantly for several years. Very large deployments are made at the scale of cities or entire regions, or even of an entire country. In addition, sensors (other than meters) installed on the distribution networks of these various fluids are also made communicating by connecting them to radio transmitters or GSM modems. Thus, a wide variety of equipment (meters, sensors, ...) from different suppliers are intended to be connected to transmission modules generally provided by one or more third-party companies. During the practical implementation of these large transmission networks, the operator is faced with a great disparity of equipment (sensors, transmitters, interfaces) to connect together to communicate with the chosen telecommunication solution. The risks of incorrect connections or incorrect settings of the equipment are high and can even endanger the validity of the solution in the long term. For example, water meter manufacturers offer pulse transmitters that communicate mechanical water meters with any type of radio transmitter. These pulse transmitters have up to five connecting wires, also called output leads in this text, with each manufacturer having its own color code. The connection operation is therefore accompanied by high risks of numerous errors, in particular for transmitters that accept several meters of different origins. The object of the invention is, above all, to provide an assistance device for making the connections between a radio transmitter, for remote reading of fluid consumption meters, and the output conductors of the signals representative of the consumption, provided on the meter or on a sensor fitted to this meter. Such an assistance device aims to facilitate electrical connection operations between heterogeneous equipment, as well as their configuration if appropriate. It is desirable that this assistance device is simple to implement and economical manufacturing. According to the invention, the assistance device for making connections between a radio transmitter for remote reading of fluid consumption meters, in particular water meters, and the output conductors of the signals representative of the consumption, provided on a meter or a sensor fitted to this meter, is characterized in that it comprises at least one card provided on at least a part of its periphery with means for holding the conductors of the transmitter and the meter or meters to be connected, and on at least one side of a diagram of the connection to be made, the card having a marking indicating the combination it represents. Preferably, the assistance device comprises a set of several different cards, each card corresponding to a type of connection, with different types of transmitters, counters and / or sensors. The conductor holding means may comprise notches, in particular rectangular, to temporarily hold the wires and / or cables during the connection operation. Preferably, a notch area is reserved for the wires or cables of the transmitter, and another area separate from the first is reserved for the wires or cables of the meter or sensor. The free portion of a card between the two notch zones advantageously comprises a representation of the connections to be made, in particular according to the colors of wires of different equipment. The card may comprise a marker, in particular a barcode for identifying the connection and for reading the information by a reading means, in particular for identifying the combination represented by the card, by means of a terminal. portable. The card may be rectangular in shape and the notch area reserved for the transmitter wires or cables is located on a large side of the card, and the other notch area for the meter or sensor wires or cables is located on the other side of the map. According to one variant, the card may be square in shape and have on each of its four sides a notch for a sensor cable while a slot for holding the transmitter cable extends from one side to the other. at a central opening from which radially distributed radial notches start for holding the conductors of the transmitter cable during the connection operation. Advantageously, the or each card is made of rigid plastic material. The invention also relates to a method of assisting the connection between a radio transmitter for remote reading of fluid consumption meters, in particular water meters, each meter, or sensor which equips a meter, being provided with output conductors providing the signals representative of the consumption, characterized in that a device as defined above is implemented by carrying out the following operations: - selection of the card corresponding to the situation encountered, - insertion of the wires the transmitter in the appropriate notches on the card; insertion of the cable of the or each counter or sensor into the appropriate slot; - realization of the interconnections by respecting the paths of the deposit and the colors; - read the barcode of the card to then set the transmitter and / or keep track of the connection made. The invention consists, apart from the arrangements described above, of a certain number of other arrangements which will be more explicitly discussed below with regard to exemplary embodiments described with reference to the appended drawings, but which do not are in no way limiting. In these drawings: FIG. 1 is a plan view of a card constituting a device for assisting the production of connections according to the invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view of another card for making another type of connection. Fig. 3 is a plan view of another card according to the invention, for another type of connection. Fig. 4 is a plan view of preparing a connection between a transmitter and the cable from a sensor using an appropriate card according to the invention and FIG. 5 is a top view of the connection made between transmitter and cable of Fig.4, with assistance of the card, before removal. Referring to the drawings, a device D (Fig. 1 to 3) can be seen to assist in making connections between a radio transmitter T (Figs 4 and 5) for remote reading of water meters, and a counter or sensor (not shown). The device D comprises at least one card 1 (FIG 1) made of a relatively rigid material, in particular a plastic material or rigid cardboard, whose shape may be rectangular as illustrated in FIG. 1 or square (Fig. 3) or with a polygonal or curvilinear contour. The card 1 is provided on at least a part of its periphery with M1 holding means of the transmitter conductors and M2 holding means of the cable or the output conductors of the meter (s) or sensor (s) to be connected. . The card 1 is further provided, on at least one side, with a diagram S of the connection to be made. The card 1 has a marking indicating the combination it represents. In the example of FIG. 1, this marking is constituted by a first indication located in the upper left corner of the card and 25 corresponds to the mention "Transmitter A", and by another indication located in the lower right corner which bears the indications superimposed "1 sensor Cl "and below" 1 sensor C2 ". The holding means M1, M2 are advantageously made in the form of notches, generally rectangular, of suitable size to temporarily hold the wires and / or cables during the connection operation. These notches preferably extend perpendicularly to the edge of the card from which they leave. Thus, the holding means M1 for the son of the transmitter are formed by five notches b1, b2, b3, b4, b5 of the same length, starting from the large upper side of the card according to FIG. 1. A mark rbl-rb5, for example in the form of a rectangular outline, is inscribed on the card 1 at the closed end of each of the notches b1-b5. Each mark is assigned a color corresponding to that of a conductor of the transmitter A which comprises five conductors to be connected, in whole or in part, depending on the case. The rbl is red, the rb2 is white, the rb3 is yellow, the rb4 is purple, and the rb5 is green.
On the large opposite side of the card 1 are provided two notches el, e2 constituting the holding means M2. These notches el, e2 are designed to receive the cables of sensors Cl, C2, or meters, and are wider than the notches bl-b5 for single conductors. The diagram S of the connections to be made is shown on the card 1 in the form of colored lines corresponding to those of the conductors to be connected. The lines of the diagram result in junction areas materialized, for example, by circles j1, j2, j4, j5. Scheme S is inscribed in the free portion of the card between the two notch areas, located respectively on the opposite longitudinal edges. The diagram S represents the connections to be made according to the colors of wires of the different equipment, corresponding to the instructions. The junction j1 is to be realized between a red conductor wbl of the transmitter and on the one hand a red conductor w1 of the cable housed in the notch el and on the other hand a black conductor w6 coming from the cable of the sensor C2 housed in the notch e2. The connection j2 is to be made between a driver wb2 of the transmitter A, housed in the notch b2, and a conductor w2 yellow sheath from the cable of the sensor Cl housed in the notch and.
The notch b3 corresponds to a driver of the transmitter which does not have to be connected in the example considered. The connection j4 is to be made between the driver of the transmitter housed in the notch b4, purple color, with the conductor w4, white color, the sensor cable C2 housed in the notch e2.
Finally, the connection j5 is to be made between the green conductor of the transmitter housed in the notch b5 and the driver w5 of green color of the sensor cable C2 housed in the notch e2. The card 1 further comprises a mark K, provided along a short side of the card according to the example of FIG. 1, advantageously constituted by a barcode k1 making it possible to identify the connection, namely in the example under consideration "Connection between transmitter A and sensors C1 and C2". The information contained in the bar code k1 can be collected by a reading means which makes it possible to identify the combination represented by the card. The reading means is advantageously constituted by a portable terminal equipped with a suitable reader, especially infrared. This information can in particular be used to set the transmitter A according to the sensors connected to this transmitter. Fig. 2 shows another map 1a, of the same rectangular format as the map 1, having a different connection diagram S1 and more complex than that of FIG. 1. The transmitter to be connected comprises six conductors to which correspond six notches b11, b12, b13, b14, b15, b1 bl 6 provided on the large upper side of the card la. This transmitter can be connected to four sensors whose cables are received by four wider notches e11, e12, e13, e14 provided along the large opposite side of the map la. The connection diagram S1 on this card is more complex than that of FIG. 1. The bar code kl 1 is used to enter the connection made. Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of card 1b of square shape with slots e21, e22, e23, e24, four in number, for the sensor cables. A notch is provided in the middle of each of the four sides of the square perpendicular to these sides.
A slot g is provided along a half-diagonal for holding the transmitter cable. The slot g extends to a circular central opening 2 from which six radial notches b21-b26 are distributed angularly for holding the conductors of the transmitter cable during the connection operation. The connection diagram S2 with the 25 connection points such as j21 is also shown on the card with the bar code k2. The number of different cards, of the same format preferably, is defined by all the combinations of connections possible in practice between the equipment used. A set of these cards is provided to technicians who must make the connections. For example, in the case of radio transmitters of a specific model that can accept from one to four pulse emitter counters, from three different manufacturers, the number of combinations will be, assuming that the connection order does not have Important: 35 - if an input is used on the transmitter: three cards - if two inputs are used on the transmitter: six cards - if three inputs are used on the transmitter: nine cards - if four inputs are used on the transmitter : fifteen cards for a total of thirty-three cards and combinations. Such a set of thirty-three cards will therefore be provided to each installation technician, each card representing a combination of possible and authorized wiring. Some combinations may be prohibited by not providing the associated card. As already indicated, each card is marked with a marking clearly indicating the combination it represents: in the case of the card 1 of FIG. 1, it is the transmitter combination A with two sensors, respectively C1 and C2. To make a connection between a remote radio transmitter and at least one water meter, the operator proceeds as explained below. The operator chooses from his deck of cards that which corresponds to the situation encountered in the field: for example, connecting a transmitter A to the sensor of a meter. This is a relatively simple case to which map 1c corresponds (Figs 4 and 5). The starting situation is illustrated in Fig. 4 where we can see part of the transmitter T whose drivers to connect have not yet been cleared. The card 1c is close to the transmitter T. The cable h of the sensor to be connected has one end in the vicinity of the card 1c, the conductors of this cable not yet being cleared. The operator releases the wires of the transmitter T and places them in the notches located at the top of the card 1c respecting the indicated colors.
Fig. 5 illustre la connexion réalisée. In the same way, the operator releases the conductors of the cable h from the sensor, and places the cable h in the notch of the large lower side of the card. The operator then makes the connections between the different conductors, respecting the colors and the paths of the instruction appearing on the card. These connections are advantageously made by means of connectors 3 (FIG. 5) of the type of those marketed under the name of ETON or by means of equivalent connectors. After introduction of the ends of the non-stripped conductors into the connector, the stripping of the ends of the conductors, the establishment of the electrical connection and the sealing by virtue of the presence, in the form of pinch and mechanical deformation of the connector, are performed. the connector, a paste, in particular a silicone grease. Fig. 5 illustrates the connection made. The operator can then read, by a portable terminal, the barcode located on the left side of the card 1 c, which will allow parameterizing the transmitter T, or simply to keep track of the connection made. The example considered is a simple case where the transmitter has four wires to which correspond to four notches of the card l c, while the cable of the sensor or the counter has four conductors. It should be noted that one of the conductors of the transmitter engaged in the rightmost notch of the upper part of the card is not connected in this example. The operator then removes the card 1c by removing all the wires and cables from their notches. The operation is complete. The advantages of the assistance device and the connection method according to the invention are numerous. The following can be emphasized: - Reduction of the risk of wiring error by direct visualization and closer to the connection instructions. The actual wiring is superimposed on the color scheme on the map, which avoids a reference to a paper guide, requiring intense visual gymnastics, difficult to practice in site conditions, for example in the basement or in a cellar. 20 - Maintenance of wires and cables during connection operations, allowing the operator to work with both hands, which corresponds to a "hands-free" type function. This results in a decrease in the risk of imperfect insertion of the wires in the connectors, which can occur when the cables are not maintained correctly. 25 - The reading of the wiring combination is performed by bar code before removing the card, which virtually eliminates transcription errors. The "square" version of the map of Fig. 3 may be preferred in some cases, the son of the transmitter being placed in the center, the sensor cables being inserted at the periphery.
