Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a secure payment method, which has applications in many commercial fields, especially in the case of online business transactions. Currently, when a user wants to make an online purchase, he is obliged to communicate to third parties, often unsecured, for example the complete number of his credit card (CB), the cryptogram 10 associated with this card and the date of validity, possibly the name. Although it is taken an arsenal of precautions, there is still a considerable number of fraud by payment by credit card. The present invention therefore aims to implement a secure payment method that can significantly limit the number of such fraud, if not completely eradicate the risk, which does not require the use of considerable material resources and expensive . More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for making secure payments by a user to a seller, characterized in that it consists in making said payments by means of at least one key via a network, said key with biometric data encoding. According to another characteristic of the method, the biometric data are at least one of the following means: fingerprint of at least one finger, the iris, the hand, the face of the user. According to another characteristic of the method, said network is the Internet. According to another characteristic, the method consists in making said payments by means of at least two biometric keys with different coding. According to another characteristic of the method, the biometric data consist of the combination of two different biometric data. According to another characteristic of the method, the recognition of the user is obtained by a first biometric data of the user and the validation of the payment is obtained by a second biometric data of the same user, different from the first. Other features and advantages of the present invention will emerge during the following description of an exemplary implementation of the secure payment method according to the invention, which has applications in many commercial areas, particularly in the case of online business transactions. The method is simple and easy to implement by means of a secure and tamper-proof type of biometric data recognition type, for example fingerprints, such as that marketed by the company "Transcend" under the commercial reference "Jetflash 220 ". The recognition can also be done by another biometric means for example the iris, the face, the hand, etc. When a user wants to make a purchase online, he connects via a network such as the Internet, via a computer, to the merchant site on which he wishes to make his purchase. If he wants to pay by this network, cf. Internet via this computer, it inserts its key, type USB into the connector provided for this purpose. The computer recognizes that this is a particular key and installs absolutely nothing (special security certificate to install).
Since this key is not visible directly as a new external disk (workstation element regardless of the operating system), it can not be accessed directly or read directly the information it contains. After choosing his or her articles that he wishes to buy, then validated his "basket", the user goes to the payment phase. Of course, the information about the user, such as his name and the delivery address of the products he has purchased, must still be entered on the merchant site so that the latter can deliver the products. The secure key contains the information concerning the user and his bank details, in a complete or partial manner. Indeed, the key can at least contain some of the information that will be completed by the bank in which the user has his account, and this during the identification phase. After the identification phase (biometric, with the method according to the invention), the bank of the user can reliably detect that it is the owner of the key or an authorized user of this key. According to this advantageous embodiment, this identification will be made by the biometric function of the key. The method thus consists in making a secure connection with the bank of the account of the authorized user (possible supplements of the information by the bank before the payment step) and, in addition, a validation of the purchase after identification of the authorized user, carried out previously. This key does not require an internal power supply (type battery or accumulator), but is powered by the device in which it is inserted.
With the method according to this invention, when paying by means of said key, it is the bank of the user who transmits the payment authorization and makes the payment without transmitting to the seller the bank details of this user, or his payment operator. The merchant site will therefore be credited, and safely, the payment. For, if the account of the user is not sufficiently supplied, this one will receive a message indicating to him that it does not have the sum and the operation will be suspended or canceled. To make his payment, the user will pass his fingerprint on the key that constitutes the secure payment device.
An indication on the key (example: two "LED" respectively green and red) indicates to the user that its identification has gone well or bad, and that its payment has been validated or not. He will obtain, as in the past, a receipt indicating that the transaction has been completed.
This process can also be used for the payment of purchases, in supermarkets or any other store, with the simple addition of a very inexpensive interface. It can also be used for the withdrawal of species, thus presenting a great advantage over the existing method in which the entered code can be recorded without the knowledge of the user or, very often, for reasons of memory and of code diversity, noted manually. With the method according to the invention, it is not necessary to replace the existing credit card payment terminals, but simply for example to double them by this method according to the invention much more secure. This method can also be used for payments via a mobile phone.
Embedded applications on the key will allow the user to manage his budget. Note: according to a feature of the method according to the invention, the biometric identification data can be constituted by the combination of two biometric data, for example the fingerprints of two different fingers. For certain transactions, for example requesting the transfer of sums exceeding a certain level, it is possible to implement the method by using at least two keys with a biometric coding assigned respectively to two different authorized persons, for example an accountant and a director. or the like. According to another characteristic of the method, the recognition of the user can be obtained by the fingerprint of one hand and the validation of the purchase can be obtained by the fingerprint of the other hand.
It is also possible to provide several users for the same key. ADVANTAGES OF THE PROCESS: II avoids frauds and the constitution, despite secure sites, files containing bank card numbers, cryptograms transmitted to the merchant sites and / or their payment operators who can keep them in memory. Payment is made by a server that is owned by the bank or financial institution that issued the biometric key.
The biometric key is not copiable. In addition, it is not seen as a removable disk and is only usable. When paying, it is the paying agency's server that issues a number identifying the transaction.
The method avoids keyboarding of a user identification code. The bank or organization issuing the biometric key may at any time prevent the user from exceeding his financial means (ratios, etc.). The biometric key may receive an adapter allowing payment by mobile phone and operates in all countries; it can also be used with any system connecting to the bank's server (remote purchase). The bank can open a paid e-commerce sub-account (remuneration of future savings, consumption, engine of the economy and jobs (origin of car funds in the event of tax control, etc.). the bank to pay the entire current account and save costs. The seller avoids high fees, as currently, the 20 transactions "CB" and "Paypal" for example. This method according to the invention can contribute to To limit the problems of overindebtedness If the user accepts, during the purchase, certain conditions on the commercial site, it will benefit from balances, delivered throughout the year.
In case of loss of the biometric key, its replacement by the bank is immediate because this biometric key is not usable by a third party. The method according to the invention also makes it possible, for example, to limit the pocket money, advantageously for children, and the risk of being assaulted, as well as the elderly, the visually impaired, the disabled, etc. This security device like a digital biometric key is simple, small, waterproof, universal, anti-magnetic.
