Abstract

The method involves using an instant messaging e.g. skype, for sending an instant message to enter in network address translation routers (41, 51) of private networks (4, 5) by computers (42, 52), respectively, and arriving at level of network storage devices (43, 53) through an Internet network (2). The instant message is received by the storage device. Control instruction chains transported by the instant message are read by the storage device. A data file is accessed or operations are performed by the storage device in accordance with the instruction chains. An independent claim is also included for a storage device comprising a storage module for storing a data file.
