Abstract
Description
US 6,356,645 discloses an electroacoustic transducer including a microphone and a speaker, which is disposed in a motor vehicle. This transducer comprises a support that can be fixed between the headrest and the top of the backrest of a motor vehicle seat, at the rods that connect the headrest to the backrest, or that can be integrated into the cushion headrest itself. This device can be used to make hands-free calls. The speaker that it features can be a speaker, standard, diaphragm, or a piezoelectric speaker.
The integration of the loudspeaker to the cushion of the headrest is not described. In fact, this device is in fact very difficult to integrate into the cushion of a vehicle headrest because of its bulk.
An object of the present invention is to provide a new motor vehicle element which comprises audible vibration generation means, easy to integrate.
Ce but est atteint au moyen d'un élément de véhicule automobile comportant This goal is achieved by means of a motor vehicle element comprising
Selon l'invention, lesdits moyens de génération de vibrations sont disposés sur ladite surface et comportent : A surface intended to be arranged in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle and means for generating audible frequency vibrations. According to the invention, said vibration generating means are disposed on said surface and comprise:
- une membrane qui comporte au moins une couche en polymère électroactif et qui est montée sur ladite surface de manière à ce que ladite membrane soit apte à vibrer a membrane which comprises at least one layer of electroactive polymer and which is mounted on said surface so that said membrane is able to vibrate
25 selon une direction sensiblement normale à la surface de ladite membrane ; In a direction substantially normal to the surface of said membrane;
- un générateur haute tension, électriquement relié à ladite membrane et capable de délivrer un courant électrique alternatif dans la plage de fréquence acoustique que l'on souhaite reproduire d'une fréquence comprise entre 20Hz et 15kHz, et a high voltage generator, electrically connected to said membrane and capable of delivering an alternating electric current in the acoustic frequency range that it is desired to reproduce with a frequency of between 20 Hz and 15 kHz, and
- un corps déformant qui déforme ladite membrane selon ladite direction, a deforming body which deforms said membrane in said direction,
Whereby said membrane which is stretched by said deforming body, vibrates, in said direction, at an audible frequency, when said generator delivers an alternating electric current of a frequency between 20 Hz and 15 kHz to said membrane. The aforementioned audible vibration generating means are compact and in particular, very flat. They can thus be perfectly integrated with the motor vehicle element. For the purposes of the present invention, the means for generating audible vibrations are capable of reproducing the frequencies of the voice, of a music or of generating a simple sound. They can thus be used as simple acoustic horns that signal an event or as real loudspeakers and / or microphones because the operating principle of the electroactive polymers is reversible. Document US 6 545 384 describes a transducer which comprises an electroactive polymer membrane and which can be used as a loudspeaker or microphone. Nevertheless, this document does not describe in detail the method of manufacturing such a loudspeaker and does not suggest including it in a motor vehicle element. According to a particular embodiment, said deforming body is an electrically insulating foam and is disposed between said membrane and said surface, said membrane crushing said deforming body when it vibrates in said direction. Advantageously, the aforementioned surface is the surface of a portion of said element and said deforming body is an integral part of said portion, which reduces the number of manufacturing steps of the element of the invention and therefore its cost. Moreover, the aforementioned portion may be foam; the Applicant has thus demonstrated that it is possible to use the foams commonly used in the automotive industry, such as, for example, polyurethane foam, for the implementation of the deforming body of the audible vibration generation means such as than mentioned above. It is therefore the merit of the Applicant to have found that it is possible to use the motor vehicle components that have an existing foam portion, to incorporate audible vibration generating means as mentioned above. Motor vehicle components therefore do not have to be modified to include the aforementioned generation means, which makes the integration of these means very simple and inexpensive. The method of mounting the membrane on the surface of the motor vehicle element is not limited according to the invention. Thus, the electroactive polymer membrane can be fixed on a frame and said frame can be fixed on said surface. The membrane can also, according to a simplified embodiment, be fixed directly on a frame integrated to said surface. The membrane can be tensioned, that is to say stretched, before being fastened to the frame. Advantageously, the membrane is tensioned (tensioning) and then fixed on a frame 10, which increases the displacement of the membrane and therefore the acoustic power. The frame is not necessarily flat, it may have a shape adapted to the geometry of said surface so as to facilitate the integration of the vibration generating means to the motor vehicle element of the invention. Thus, said frame may have a shape that at least partially matches said surface. According to a particular embodiment, said deforming body is formed by said frame which has portions contained in different orientation planes. The membrane may then be deformed by a foam deforming body or other or not be further deformed, its deformation due to the shape of the frame 20 allowing its vibration, under the effect of an electric current in audible frequencies. The Applicant has also found that when the deforming element is of a foam having a low damping coefficient and a high elasticity, the vibrations are generated linearly over a larger frequency range which makes it possible to reproduce the voice or the music. Thus, the foam may be of the polyurethane type or any other type used in the automotive industry. The electroactive polymer is of the electronic type and for example of the dielectric type of acrylic polymer material or silicone.
According to the invention, the motor vehicle element may be the foam cushion of a motor vehicle headrest and, in this case, said surface is located at the level of the ears of a user. In this position, the vibrations generated are easily audible by the user because they are, in particular, well directed and close, even if they are of low intensity. In addition, the sounds produced by the audible vibration generating means of the invention are thus inaudible to the user's environment.
The element can also be the dashboard of a motor vehicle, the latter often being padded and padded with a layer of foam 10 disposed between a rigid wall and the cover material.
The element can also be an opening of a motor vehicle, such as a door, a tailgate or any other opening. Indeed, such openings often have one or more foam portions oriented towards the passenger compartment which facilitates the integration of the audible vibration generating means as mentioned above.
Said vibration generating means may be able to function as a microphone and / or as a loudspeaker.
La présente invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication d'un élément de véhicule tel que précité, selon lequel : The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a vehicle element as mentioned above, according to which:
-on forme une portion de mousse qui présente une surface destinée à être a portion of foam is formed which has a surface intended to be
20 disposée dans l'habitacle d'un véhicule automobile et qui comporte, sur ladite surface, une protubérance constituant ledit corps déformant en mousse et faisant partie intégrante de ladite portion en mousse ; Disposed in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle and having on said surface a projection constituting said deforming foam body and integral with said foam portion;
- on fixe sur un cadre une membrane qui comporte au moins une couche de polymère électroactif ; a membrane is fixed on a frame which comprises at least one layer of electroactive polymer;
Fixing said frame on which said membrane is fixed on said surface so that said protuberance deforms said membrane in a direction substantially normal to the surface of said membrane.
Within the meaning of the present invention, the term "protuberance" is understood to mean a zone of foam which exceeds the overall surface of the foam portion and which therefore corresponds to a local surplus of material and also a zone of foam which, locally , is of greater thickness, which can be obtained, for example, by digging a groove which defines a closed shape, such as a circle or equivalent, and which delimits within it, a foam zone which protrudes above from the back of the throat.
The membrane can be tensioned before being fixed to the frame.
La présente invention, ses caractéristiques et les différents avantages qu'elle procure seront mieux compris à la lecture de la description qui suit de deux modes de réalisation, présentés à titre d'exemples non limitatifs, et qui fait référence aux dessins annexés, sur lesquels : -la figure 1 représente une vue en perspective avec coupe partielle d'un détail 10 d'un premier mode de réalisation de l'invention ; The present invention, its characteristics and the various advantages that it provides will be better understood on reading the following description of two embodiments, presented as non-limiting examples, and which refers to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 represents a partially cut-away perspective view of a detail of a first embodiment of the invention;
As represented in FIG. 1, the vibration generating means equipping a motor vehicle element according to the invention comprise a frame 1, which may be metallic, of substantially oval shape, on which is stretched a
The frame 1 rests on the surface 31 of a motor vehicle element 3. A foam body 4 is disposed on the surface 31 between the membrane 2 and the surface 31 so as to deform the membrane 2 in a substantially perpendicular direction D to the plane of the frame 1, which substantially corresponds to the plane P (indicated in dashed lines) defined by the membrane 2
This direction D is therefore also locally perpendicular to the surface 31 of the motor vehicle element 3 and therefore located outside the membrane 2.
An alternating voltage is applied between the inner face 21 of the membrane 2, which is oriented towards the foam deforming body 4 and the outer face 22 which faces outwards. The two faces 21 and 22 of the membrane 2 are covered
25 of a conductive electrode, for example, a conductive grease. The membrane 2 comprising an electroactive polymer layer starts to vibrate under the effect of the passage of the electric current and produces audible sounds. The membrane 2 may comprise one or more layers of electroactive polymer and thus several layers of deformable electrodes.
The membrane 2 can be tensioned before being fixed on the frame 1 which increases the intensity of the vibrations generated and therefore the acoustic power produced for the same electrical energy consumed. For example, it is possible to use a lmm membrane and stretch it so that its thickness is of the order of 1/10 mm. After this tensioning step, the membrane 2 is fixed, tensioned, on the frame 1. The membrane 2 may be of the acrylic polymer type such as, for example, the acrylic polymers of the 4900 VHB series produced by the company 3M Corps. The applied voltage is of the order of 1 to 5 kV and the intensity of the current is of the order of micro ampere. It is also possible, according to the present invention to use a left frame which has a shape adapted to the surface to which the vibration generating means must be integrated. This surface may be any surface, not necessarily a surface disposed on a motor vehicle component. In this case, the non-planar shape of the frame makes it possible to tension the membrane and to obtain audible vibrations. The membrane is not necessarily deformed by a foam element as mentioned above. The elements of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 2 which are in common with the elements of the first aforementioned embodiment are referenced identically. As shown in FIG. 2, the motor vehicle element may be a headrest cushion 3. In this case, a loudspeaker as mentioned above is inserted on each side of the cushion 3, at the level of the ears of the car. 'user. In this case, the frame 1 is left to match the rounded corner of the headrest cushion 3. The membrane 2 which is stretched on the frame 1 matches the shape. The loudspeaker thus formed then has the most suitable shape for its integration with the vehicle element. The foam of the cushion 3 which forms a protrusion deforms the membrane 2 to allow it to vibrate locally in a direction substantially perpendicular to the membrane 2. According to another embodiment not shown, the frame 1 is left as in the second mode embodiment and the membrane is not deformed by the foam of the headrest cushion 3. The single form of the frame 1 makes it possible to vibrate the membrane 2 in audible frequencies. There is therefore, in this case, a space between the membrane and the surface of the headrest cushion.
A method of manufacturing a motor vehicle component will now be described. For the sake of simplicity, this method relates to the manufacture of a motor vehicle headrest but it is of course transposable to any motor vehicle element which comprises a foam portion which has a surface intended to be arranged in a motor vehicle. Of course, the shape of the protuberance is adapted to the shape of the frame 1 and that of the membrane 2.
The headrest cushion 3 consists of a block of polyurethane foam. Preferably, during its manufacture, a protuberance is provided on its surface. This avoids a step which would consist in forming the protuberance by adding a foam body to the surface of the cushion. It is also possible to form, for example, during the manufacture of the cushion, a groove, of closed shape, which delimits a cushion portion which is likened to a protuberance, even if this portion does not exceed the overall surface of the cushion , but only from the surface of the back of the throat. This groove has a shape that allows it to receive the frame 1, the foam zone delimited by the groove acting deforming body.
A membrane 2, as defined with reference to FIG. 1, is then stretched over a frame 1 and, by gluing, for example, the frame 1 coated with the membrane 2 is attached to the protuberance of the cushion 3 so that the membrane 2 is deformed as shown in FIG. 1. In the case of the groove, the frame 1 is disposed at the bottom of the groove and the portion of cushion which is delimited by the groove serves as a deforming protrusion.
The electrical connections are then put in place to vibrate the membrane 2.
The cushion 3 can then be covered with a textile. In the case of a frame 1 fixed in a groove, the speaker thus formed does not form any bump on the surface of the cushion and is therefore perfectly invisible.
