Description

The present invention relates to the field of electronic commerce of musical pieces.

The development of the Internet network makes it possible to offer new means of distribution of goods and services. One of the first uses of this type of network was to digitize musical excerpts and to transmit them, free or not. two complementary techniques are used for this purpose.

The first technique is the live streaming of music, streaming, which allows you to listen to a piece of music without having to download it completely. Only the part of the song currently being listened to is temporarily stored on the user's set. A server transmits the data to be listened to from a request made by the user. This data can be transmitted live or from a file stored on the server. This method of broadcasting is modeled on the principle of broadcasting or television. It differs in the choice that is offered to the user. This one can indeed choose which piece he wants to hear by consulting lists of available musical pieces.

This technique is used for broadcasting radio broadcasts. It is possible to pay for access to these programs, or the files that will be listened to. However, it is only poorly suited to the trade of musical pieces.

The second technique consists in downloading a complete file in local storage means and then listening to the digitized music in this file. This principle allows the sale of musical pieces online. The customer orders the files he wants to download. After having set his order, he obtains an access authorization to this files, or a key allowing to decode the music contained in these files. This technique does not know in advance what is the musical quality of the song that we will download. we then find the risky aspect of the purchase of songs whose content we do not know as it exists when we buy a CD.

The object of the invention is to propose a system that makes it possible to combine the advantages of these two techniques in an electronic commerce system of musical pieces, this system making it possible to easily control musical pieces that have been previously heard.

The invention relates to a method for distributing multimedia files on an open digital network comprising a step of sequentially broadcasting a plurality of multimedia files by a central system to at least one user, the broadcast not allowing the global storage of the multimedia files. . The invention is characterized in that it is possible to access a set of commercial or non-commercial information concerning the multimedia files broadcast during the broadcast in order to allow the user to control elements of said multimedia files.

Advantageously, the user is allowed to browse (listen to, skip to the next song, select it for later use) the broadcast sequence of the multimedia files. This course therefore gives the user the possibility of modifying in real time the thread of the programming of the current sequence. In this way, it can intervene in real time on the order of passage of the multimedia files and mark its interest for some of these files. The ordered items may consist of video clips or music clips.

In a variant, the commercial information concerning the multimedia files is transmitted to the user beforehand or concomitantly with the broadcasting thereof.

Preferentially, commercial information means of control / selection of multimedia files for which said commercial information has been consulted.

The information sequences consulted by the user can be easily manipulated by the central system which will be able to define and then refine the user's profile over time by appropriate statistical processing. The system can thus create broadcast sequences adapted to the user's supposed tastes and thus improve the sales chances.

The definition of a multimedia sequence a priori is one of the advantages associated with the use of a computer network such as the Internet. It is no longer necessary to choose a single means of communication for all users. Personalization of communication is no longer done only when choosing one way or another, but also during the show itself.

In one embodiment of the invention, it is possible to create a specific means for controlling a multimedia file when it is broadcast. It is then possible to integrate it in the means of diffusion in order to facilitate its use.
