Abstract

The illuminated table which is supplied by solar energy consists of a table top plate (2) with solar cells (1) mounted beneath the plate. The plate comprises a sheet of glass. The solar cells are used to charge a battery (3) which is supported beneath the table, with a charge limiter (4) provided to control the charging of the battery. The energy of the battery may be used to operate lamps (5) which are also mounted beneath the glass plate which forms the table top. The casing within which the battery and lamps are mounted may also form the foot and stand for the table. A control switch (6) may be mounted in the bottom of the assembly, and an automatic switch (7) may be mounted near to the top of the unit.
