Abstract

A lollipop, or similar transparent, translucent or semi-opaque sweet (1), is mounted on a hollow stick (2) containing a bulb (3) connected by wires (4) or other conductors to a battery (6) in a circuit with a switch (5). The bulb can be solar-powered or lit by a battery of not more than 3 V so as to be completely harmless to a child, while the hollow stick is insulated. The bulb can be plain, simply to illuminate the lollipop, or it can be coloured so that it changes the colour of the lollipop when lit.
