Abstract

The high speed ink jet printer has a large number of ink jets in parallel and is displaced in small steps of an order of magnitude comparable to the steps separating the individual ink nozzles on the print head. The ink is supplied in parallel to all the nozzles. The control of the nozzles is multiplexed. The print head is moved by a mechanical resonance system and the triggering of the individual jets is synchronised with the absolute position of the print head.
