Abstract

The percolator has a cylinder, made of plastics material, with a circular ring (A) on its inner surface. Its lower end has a screw thread on to which a sleeve is screwed. This holds a capsule, containing ground coffee, that is held by the inner ring. The cylinder is filled with hot or cold water and a piston, with a watertight joint, is put into it. This is pushed down, by its head, to force water through the coffee.

POCKET PERCOLATOR
The present invention relates to a device preferably made of plastic making it possible to obtain an aqueous extract extemporaneously by forced passage of hot or cold water through a powder from which an aqueous extract is to be obtained.

More particularly, this device makes it possible to obtain, from the passage of hot or cold water over a powder of roasted coffee, an aqueous solution of the various components of coffee, commonly called coffee.

Until today, obtaining this coffee required relatively bulky, bulky equipment, most of the time made of glass, therefore fragile and breakable.

The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks and is presented as a pocket percolator.

The pocket percolator has three parts: 1) A cylindrical body (Figure 1), preferably made of plastic,
with a height of 12 cm and a section of 4 cm. This height and this section
give it a volume of 100 ml. This cylinder will receive hot or cold water. II
ends with a threaded part on its outer face and on its inner face, a
projecting circular ring (A) blocks the capsule containing the powder.

2) A piston (figure 2), preferably made of plastic, which moves in this
cylindrical part and which ends in a seal (J) ensuring sealing. On the
upper part, a pusher (P) allows to exert a pressure causing the
forced hot or cold water through the powder. Conversely, a
traction, the piston being in the low position, allows the suction of water through the
powder contained in the capsule.

3) A ring (figure 3) which screws onto the cylindrical body to maintain the
capsule containing the powder from which an aqueous extract is to be obtained.

According to specific manufacturing methods
1) The cylindrical body can have a variable volume
2) The piston which must adapt to this cylinder will vary in its length and
section with variations in section and length of the cylinder.

3) In the same way, the ring will have to adapt to the different sections of the
cylindrical body.

With reference to these diagrams, the pocket percolator comprises a cylinder (FIG. 1), the body of which receives the piston (FIG. 2) provided with its seal ensuring the seal during manual pressure or by any other means on the pusher. A ring (figure 3) makes it possible to block the capsule containing the powder and to prevent it from coming out when the pusher is pushed.

Figure 4 illustrates the operation of the pocket percolator whose instructions are as follows: 1) The capsule (C) containing the powder is placed at the bottom of the cylinder and
