Abstract

Process for ensuring, without the use of an envelope, the inherent confidentiality of documents, and products for implementing said process. The printing medium of the document is firstly coated with a pattern (1) for scrambling and making the printed text unintelligible, whereby the two impressions merge and/or mask each other. To access the information printed on the medium, it needs to be revealed by applying a particular treatment which alters, in a different manner, the printed text and the scrambling pattern in order for them to be sufficiently differentiated to enable the information to be read. The process can be used, in particular, for rendering documents generated by any type of printer, including facsimile or reprographic systems, instantly confidential without the use of an envelope.
