It consists of a mounting plate 1 for fixing the device inside the vehicle, either on the windscreen, or on the upright of the vehicle, of an articulated arm 3, of a panel 4 progressively filtering the light of the headlights and sliding on the arm from the top downwards and from the bottom upwards in order to allow the driver to adjust it in his field of view facing the headlights of the vehicles coming in the opposite direction.

Description

The present invention relates to an accessory device intended to attenuate the glare of the headlights of an oncoming vehicle during a crossing. This accessory can be adapted to the driver's side inside the passenger compartment along the windshield in all vehicles.

In this area of attenuation of the glare of the headlights1, the tinted windshield and the lamp are known.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy this drawback which is glare. I1 comprises, according to a first characteristic, a plate intended to be glued to the windshield or fixed to the vehicle upright, at the center of which is a spherical orifice in which the ball joint disposed at the end of a bent rigid arm, which allows the user to orient it in all directions. On this articulated arm slides a transparent and tinted panel; the transparency of the panel is progressive; thus the user can adjust this filter panel in his field of vision facing the headlights of oncoming vehicles.

Figures 2 A and 2 B: a plate (I) intended to be glued on the windshield (14) or fixed on the upright (13) of the vehicle, in the center of which is a spherical orifice (1 A) in which a ball joint (2) fits.

A l'autre extrémité du bras (3) est disposee une butée (5).Figures 3 A and 3 B: a rigid, bent arm (3), at the end of which is a ball joint (2) intended to be fixed in the center of the plate (1) allowing the orientation of the daughter-in-law (3) in all directions. At the other end of the arm (3) is disposed a stop (5).

The shape of the panel (4) is trapezoidal, the base (6) of the trapezoid being fixed on the orientable arm (3).

The sides 7 and 8 and the top 9 are offset to the left relative to the base (6), seen in flat, or upwards in the position of use. The transparency of the panel (4) is progressive, strongly tinted at its base, to finish slightly tinted towards the top or towards the center of the windshield when it is in the driver's field of vision.

The color of the panel can include several shades: green, orange, mauve, or other, depending on the driver's visual sensitivity.

The panel (4): its base is provided with a sheath (6) allowing it to slide while remaining braked on the orientable arm (3). This panel must be able to turn and slide on the arm (3) from top to bottom and from bottom to top, in order to allow the driver when he is in his seat to adjust it facing the headlights of oncoming vehicles, it is to say in his visual field.

A tight mounting of the panel (4) on the arm (3) should allow it to remain blocked at the place where the driver will have adjusted it without being able to adjust.
Locking the panel (4) in the driving position must, however, allow it to turn on the rod (3) in the event of an impact in order to avoid injuring the driver.

The rod (3) and panel (4) assembly must be retractable in order to be raised upwards when not in use.

According to a particular embodiment, the device can have at the level of the trapezoidal panel a height between 200 and 400 mm and a base between 100 and 200 mm.
