Abstract

The vehicle consists of a body on three wheels, with a rear tail empennage and pusher air-screw, and folding side wings. Each of the wings is made of fabric (1), is triangular in shape, and is attached along two of its edges to a hinged arm (2, 3). The two arms of each wing open outwards at an angle to one another for flight and fold flat against the sides of the vehicle's body for land travel. The motor which drives the rear pusher air screw also provides the power for the rear ground wheels. The wings depolyment is controlled by a piston, and the wings are locked in their open position by a plate and rods. USE/ADVANTAGE - A convertible vehicle, which can be driven on land or fly in the air. Good performance both on land and in the air.
