Abstract

A chemical reactor has a convergent conical furnace traversed by fluid, and an inlet for other reagents drawn into the furnace suction. Specifically a Laval nozzle has spherically concave surfaces sepg. upstream and downstream chambers communicating through the nozzle's bore. A gas chamber in the nozzle has symmetrical inlets and outlets directed into the downstream chamber. An axial injector in the bore supplies another reagent which meets the gas at a focal point in the downstream chamber. Low pressure complementary material may be added from injectors in the upstream chamber, and high pressure material may be added from injectors oriented towards the focal point. A pair of electrodes on either side of the focal point provides an ignition system. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for making metal oxides. The reactor is compact and has a high yield.
