Abstract

The table has a vertical central column (2) with a base (1) at the bottom, and a support plate at the top to which are fixed two brackets for a top plate. The brackets (6,7) are U-shaped on their side, with one side (6a,7a) fixed symmetrically to the side ends of the underneath plate. The middle part of the U-shaped brackets (6b,7b) are parallel to the column. The ends of the top U sides (6c,7c) are joined to a girder (8) right above the column (3). The top plate is formed of two sides (14a, 14b). The bottom plate has a case (3) with a plate (4) on top, and two side plates (10a,10b), slide mounted in the case (3).

Description

 The invention relates to a support table with central column and two levels, in particular for a television or similar apparatus and a video recorder for example.

 I1 is known to produce support tables comprising a vertical central column which carries at its lower end any base and at its upper end a support shelf itself.

 It is also known from patent 72 19 687 and its certificates of addition, to produce said support shelf with two lateral plates mounted on a beam of polygonal section secured to the central column. Said side plates are also advantageously mounted in a sliding and adjustable manner while means are provided for blocking said plates and stalling the device to be installed.

 These known tables are perfectly suited to support a television apparatus for example. They are also perfectly aesthetic and practical since they allow an easy height adjustment by means of a telescopic central column as well as an adjustment in rotation of the tablet with respect to the base.

 The appearance of small VCRs for television suggests that an increasing number of users will equip their television set with such a recording device.

 This is why it then becomes necessary to provide two-level support tables for television apparatus. It is obviously known to produce such tables by means of a base provided with four substantially vertical uprights. It is also possible to imagine all kinds of tables with two shelves, but these are then provided with at least two uprights.

 All the known tables mentioned above with two shelves lose the aesthetic and practical advantages mentioned above of the support table provided with a central column and are not suitable for ensuring good maintenance of the television set.

 This is why the inventor sought to produce a support table provided with a central column and equipped with two shelves which may be fitted and adjustable.

The problem to be solved was therefore to find a way to support two shelves or the like by the same central column, of course freeing up the entire useful surface thereof.

 To solve this problem, the invention provides a support table comprising a vertical central column provided at its base with any base which is remarkable in that the upper end of the column is secured to a lower shelf to which are fixed. two brackets intended to carry an upper support shelf.

 Advantageously the brackets have a shape of a lying U and are each fixed by one of their wings symmetrically in the vicinity of the lateral ends of the lower shelf so that for each bracket its wings extend substantially perpendicular to the central column while the webs of said U rise parallel to said column, the dimensions of the wings being such that the ex ends of the upper wings are close to a plane passing through the axis of the central column.

 Preferably in this case the ends of the upper wings are secured to a beam disposed substantially perpendicular to the central column and perpendicular thereto, said beam being arranged to carry the upper shelf advantageously constituted by two lateral plates mounted of sliding and adjustable way and provided with plate locking means and wedging means for the device to be installed.

 According to one embodiment, the lower shelf is formed by a formwork of polygonal section possibly surmounted by a plate while two lateral plates are slidably mounted on said formwork or said plate.

 Optionally, the width of the side plates of the upper shelf is chosen such that they rest partly on the upper wings of the U-shaped brackets.

 The table shown, intended to support a television set or the like and another complementary device, comprises in known manner a base 1 here with four branches and a vertical central column 2.

 The upper end of the column is provided with a formwork 3 of rectangular section on which is welded a plate 4 folded square on the front. The square flap 5 of the plate 4 has, seen from the front, a substantially trapezoidal shape with its small base facing downwards.

 At each end of the formwork 3 and under the plate 4 is welded a wing 6a, 7a, of a bracket 6, 7 in the shape of a coated U. The wings 6a, 7a of the brackets 6, 7 extend perpendicular to the formwork 3 rearwards while the webs 6b, 7b of the said brackets rise parallel to the central column 2.

 The brackets 6 and 7 are in substantially parallel planes and their upper wings 6c, 7c extend parallel to the wings respectively 6b, 7b.

 The ends of the upper wings 6c, 7c of the brackets are integral with a beam 8, disposed substantially vertically above the column 3 and supported at least in part by a cross member 9.

 On the plate 4 are mounted in an adjustable manner two lateral plates iOa and lOb.

 The latter can deviate at will from one another by means of elongated openings 11a, 11a and 11b, 11b, which are formed parallel to the formwork 3 in the plates 10a and 10b respectively.

 The locking in position of the plates is ensured by square collar bolts 12a, 12'a, 12b, 12'b which pass through the aforementioned openings and corresponding apertures or openings in the formwork 3 and engage with nuts such as i3a, 13ta, (figure 2).

 The beam 8 is also provided with elongated longitudinal lights formed at its ends and intended for the adjustable fixing of two lateral plates 14a, 14b provided for this purpose with corresponding lights 15a, 15b.

 The fixing by bolts and nuts and the adjustment of the plates 14a, 14b is similar to that of the plates 10a, 10b and this is further already described in the patents mentioned above.

 The plates 14a and 14b also include openings 16a, 16b perpendicular to the openings 15a, 15b of the tines to adjust in an adjustable manner bars 17a, 17b or other similar elements such as plates with straightened edge, etc. The bars 17a, 17b are intended to block the rear part of the device or its base elements.

 The plates 14a and 14b bear on the front of tubular sections 18a, 18b which are joined by a cross member 19 engaged with very little play inside said section.

 The fastening elements of the profiles on the plates and of the crosspiece in the profiles are known and are such that the assembly 18a, 18b, 19 adapts to the spacing chosen for the plates 14a, 14b.

 The outer ends of the profiles 18a, 18b are advantageously provided with elements cu of arms (not shown) for lateral setting of the device to be supported.

 It is clear that the plates 14a, 14b and the assembly 18a, 18b, 19 make it possible to support and wedge a television set or the like with a large latitude of adjustment in width and in depth. In addition, the plates lOa, lOb, also adjustable, are perfectly suited to constitute a support shelf for any type of device complementary to the first and in this case for a video recorder whose access is particularly easy, given the absence of any obstacle. both lateral and frontal.

 It is obvious, however, that the invention is not limited to supporting a television set and a video recorder. It relates in particular to all the possible combinations of two elements of a stereo system.

 In addition, if the constitutions of the shelves are advantageously those described or similar shelves, it is possible to imagine all kinds of adjustable or non-adjustable shelves, or even replace at least one of them with a door container. , cu hatch or valve, intended to better protect the device to be installed.

 1 - Support table comprising a vertical central column 2, provided at its base with a base I, any one, characterized in that the upper end of the column is secured to a lower shelf to which are fixed two brackets intended to carry an upper support shelf.  2 - Support table according to claim 1, characterized in that the brackets have the shape of a lying U 6, 7, and are each fixed by one of their wings 6a, 7a, symmetrically in the vicinity of the lateral ends of the lower shelf so such that for each bracket its wings 6a, 6c and 7a, 7c, extend in a manner substantially perpendicular to the central column 2, while the webs 6b, 7b, of the said U rise parallel to the said column, the dimensions of the wings being such that the ends of the upper wings 6c, 7c, are close to a plane passing through the axis of the central column 2.  3 - Support table according to claim 2, characterized in that the ends of the upper wings 6c, 7c, are integral with a beam 8, is substantially perpendicular to the central column 3, and perpendicular thereto, said beam being arranged to carry the upper shelf advantageously constituted by two lateral plates 14a, 14b, mounted in a sliding and adjustable manner and provided with means for blocking the plates and wedging means for the device to be installed.  4 - Support table according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the lower shelf is constituted by a formwork 3, of polygonal section possibly surmounted by a plate 4, while two side plates l0a, lOb, are sliding mounted on said formwork 3, or said plate 4.  5 - Support table according to all of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the width of the side plates 14a, 14b, of the upper shelf is chosen such that these rest partly on the upper wings 6c, 7c , gallows in U 6, 7.
