Abstract
The system which permits identification of attitude is used by physically handicapped persons who cannot use their upper members. This comprises a sensor attached to the head and directed towards the target, to enable a patient to signal for hospital services desired without having to use switches. An attitude sensor (31) comprising a direction sensor (32) and an inclinometer (33) is attached to the head of a person. This is directed towards a display panel (34) comprising numbered target sections (35) and indicators (36). A reference position (37) is identified in the centre of the panel and an auxiliary display (39) displays the command to which the detector is directed. This permits generation of specific electrical signals corresponding to the target area and signalling to an external location the particular requirements of the person.
