Abstract

The animal feeding trough is particularly for pigs, and comprises a food vessel with a protective housing on top preventing the animal from reaching the rear part. The housing (2) is curved in a bucket shape, and fixed by its lateral edges (4) to the forward ends of a stirrup-shaped raised flange (3) extending round the rear of the vessel (1) at the top. This portion forms, with the convex part of the housing, a loading funnel for the vessel, and avoids food being spilt outside the trough.
