Abstract

The carrying case is for binoculars with an inbuilt radio. The radio is integral either with the lid or the base of the case and is accessible to allow its dry battery (20) power supply to be replaced by removing a cover matching the shape of the case. The radio (10), which may be AM and/or FM, has an internal antenna (50), and is tuned via a know (12) having one edge protruding through the lid or base side. ON/OFF and volume are similarly controlled (11). The loudspeaker (15) is fitted in the outer surface of the lid or base as is an earphone socket (16).
