Abstract

The article of jewellry is an open ring made from a piece of metal whose two longitudinal edges are bent in towards each other to form a slot between them. The decorative elements have a projecting piece underneath which engages in the slot, on which they are threaded. The slot can be on the outside or inside of the ring. If more than one element is put on it they can be held apart by rods between them, in the slot. The elements are held in place by screws or by bonding or soldering. The assembly can be used to form a finger ring, bracelet, necklace etc.
