Abstract

Hydrazones of formula (I) are new (where Y is p-CF3C6H4 CH=CH; and X is H or Me). Methods of prepn. are (i) when X=X=H, by reacting the dienone with the tetrahydropyrimidinylhydrazine hydroiodide; and (2) when X=X=Me, by reacting the dienone with 5,5-dimethyl-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyridinium-2-ylhydrazine hydroiodide (II) in presence of a small amt. of HI.
