Abstract

The surveillance system has a number of peripheral stations (2), each connected to the central control (3) via a telecommunications link, and with at least one group of surveillance detectors connected to each peripheral station (2). The latter has a transfer blocking register, with a memory location associated with each of the surveillance detectors connected to the peripheral station (2), each memory location exhibiting a change in state between two binary values, in response to control information supplied from the central control (3). A detector at each peripheral station (2) detects a change in state of any one of the associated surveillance detectors, to allow the transfer to the central control (3) of information representing the latter change of state, if the corresponding memory location of the register is in a predetermined state.
