Abstract

An analytical process in which the reagents are placed in a capillary microtube which serves both as a measuring vessel and reaction vessel, is new. The tubes are pref. 2-10cm long and 1-5mm in dia. and are made of glass or plastic. The process is partic. suitable for biochemical analysis such as of enzymes. The amt. of reagent required is minimal; the sensitivity is increased, esp. where spectrophoto-metric measurements are carried out; and the ratio surface/volume is increased, enabling reactions to be examined which cannot be detected in conventional vessels.
