Abstract

The automatic door-closure mechanism has an arm (7, 8) with an elbow joint and affixed to the head of the door (2); and one of the members (8) is telescopically adjustable. The arrangement enables the length of the member (8) to be adjusted to suit different doors, and the intersliding components of the member may be locked together in the desired relationship. The method of adjustment obviates any necessity to dismantle the arm. The opposite ends of the members (7, 8) are respectively pinned (5) to the dormant door frame (6) and keyed (4) to an axle projecting from a door-mounted housing (1). The telescopic member (8) may comprise two pieces (9, 10) which are terminally fixed to the respective opposed hinges. One (9) of the pieces may be a longitudinally slotted box section contg. a coaxial bar.
