Abstract

The parquet floor block consists of a facing layer with four edges (12, 13, 14, 15). The block may be of one piece or may be of separate strips (161 - 155). The facing layer is thinner than the usual flooring, for e.g. 3-6mm thick, and pref. of treated wood. To the underneath side of the facing layer is stuck a plate 4-8mm thick, e.g. of plywood. The edges of the underneath facing have right-angled isosceles triangular notches cut out of them, with rectangular slats at the corners. The notches and the slats and the spaces between them form a regular succession of triangular projections (201, 202, 203) separated by the cut-out pieces of the underneath facing. The parquet blocks are fitted together by inserting the projections on one block into the cavities of the next.
