Abstract

The cutter bar comprises a centre portion (9) fixed to a tractor attachment. The cutter teeth (4) are carried on an endless belt (1) which passes over a free pulley at one end and a driven pulley (2) at the other end. The belt runs in a guide rail (5) on the cutting side, this being a U shaped section with the fixed blade on one side. The non-cutting side runs in a cover. The driven pulley has a hydraulic motor and the tension in the belt is adjustable. Its carriage moves in slides (12) and can be positioned using an adjuster screw (12e), locked by nuts (16).
