Abstract

A sheet material is obtd. by mixing (a) 5-10 pts. wt. of an inorganic granular material with (b) 95-30 pts. wt. of polypropylene, a propylene-ethylene sequential copolymer, a propylene-ethylene random copolymer, and/or high-density polyethylene. Mixing is by mechanical working, to generate heat and disperse the inorganic material uniformly in the resin, giving a uniform molten mass with melt flow index 0.55-2.2 cc/10 minutes at 230 degrees C under a load of 3.16 kg. This molten mixt. is calendered and/or extruded to a sheet 0.1-1.2 mm thick.
