Abstract

An inverted conical intake (3) is placed with its open base a little below the ceiling (1) of a room. It tapers to a narrow cylindrical section within which is mounted an electrically driven fan (4). From this section a vertical cylindrical tube (7) extends to the floor of the room where it ends in a conical base (10) with low level openings (11). Hot air rising from a radiator is drawn in from high level and discharged at low level so that the vertical temperature gradient in the room is eliminated. The increases comfort and improves fuel economy. The cone (3) can be translucent and contain a light bulb (12) to provide a useful and decorative effect and can have a filter (6) on its inlet.
